Postseason

The Edmonton Oilers had a successful 2023-2024 season, finishing with a record of 49-27-6 and 104 points, good for second place in the NHL Pacific Division. The Oilers were led by Connor McDavid, who had 140 points (46 goals and 94 assists) in 80 games. Other key contributors included Leon Draisaitl (120 points), Zach Hyman (82 points), and Evan Bouchard (70 points).

The Oilers were also strong on the defensive side of the puck, allowing an average of only 2.76 goals per game. Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard were both named to the NHL All-Star Game, and Mike Smith had a strong season in goal, posting a .916 save percentage and a 2.85 GAA.

In the playoffs, the Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings in the first round, but were eliminated in the second round by the Colorado Avalanche. Despite the disappointing end to the season, the Oilers showed a lot of promise and should be considered a contender for the Stanley Cup in the years to come.
